Nucleo is a “music for social action” project offering free, ensemble-based music-making opportunities to children and young people through their immersive programme in North Kensington. Their aim is to bring young people together to create change for themselves and their communities through collective music-making.
They provide instruments and deliver all their activities for free, making a musical education accessible for any family, in keeping with our goal of knocking down barriers for and with their students.
“When you’re at Nucleo project you’re learning an instrument, but you are also learning the skills you need to operate as a human being in the world. I can say for me I’ve definitely become more of a confident person and that’s purely because of the violin.”
The WWMT grant is £60k (£20k per annum) over 3 yrs to pay for music tuition staff.
