Queens Crescent Community Association (QCCA) works in one of the most deprived and diverse neighbourhoods in England.  What started as a residents’ drinking club in Camden, North London became a charity in 2002 and has occupied the same building in the middle of a large estate ever since.

We support around 3,000 people a year and our passion is improving the life opportunities of those on low incomes. We offer free and subsidised services including a foodbank, programes for older people and a large youth service.

Sport is an essential part of what QCCA offers and having a sports development co-ordinator which WWMT’s grant funding is helping to support, allows us to keep our sports and exercise programmes running at full tilt.  Last year, 900 people played free sport with us, including 400 young people (88% of all youth club members). We regularly offer football, cricket, basketball, Parkour and multi-sport.

It also gives us the resources to develop more innovative sports programes such as Off the Hook – a boxing and mentoring initiative for at risk young people, which we run with the Metropolitan Police. Champion boxer Michael Watson CBE is Off the Hook’s ambassador
