Onwards & Upwards was created to break the cycle of re-offending which ensnares almost half of the prison leavers in the UK, putting lives on hold, causing suffering and misery to families, communities and of course, to the victims of the crimes. The main driver of the cycle of re-offending is unemployment. The sad truth being, most employers will not give returning citizens a second chance. So we do.
We create sustainable, social ventures to train, then employ and support ex-offenders to become the present, positive role models in their families and among their communities. XO Bikes is our first social venture, training new mechanics and refurbishing donated bikes for sale, supported by funds from the William Wates Memorial Trust.
